While you may still be recovering from trying to secure your Chinese New Year reservation, there are plenty of couples pining to dine out this year, so it’s best to book in early! Té Bo: Unpretentious fusion fine dining

Want to treat your boo to an exquisite meal without the fuss of fine dining? Té Bo fits the bill. Its six-course set menu starts out with light snacks: buñuelos and cured mackerel, crispy cheesy potatoes with pickled daikon and beef tartare topped with caviar. Then come three appetisers, including two opulent seafood dishes — cured king salmon with smoked stracciatella and caviar to start, followed by langoustines with sea urchin and shiso —  and a blue prawn ravioli. Don’t fill up, though, because for the main courses, you’ll be served Patagonian toothfish with scallop mousse and white asparagus, followed by Té Bo’s signature Wagyu M9+ Striploin served with truffle pommes purée and bone marrow. Nocino: A Swiss-Italian getaway

Treat your lover to a trip to the alps — well, sort of. Nocino’s “Take Me to Ticino Grotto” Valentine’s dinner sharing menu kicks things off with the ultimate cheese pull — Swiss gruyere fried cheese fondue (Malakoff) — paired with house-made rosemary focaccia. Then, dive into handmade pasta like wagyu beef shin pappardelle or the rich brown crab cacio e pepe casarecce. The star of the evening? A luxurious 12-hour red wine-braised wagyu osso bucco milanese. Finish on a sweet note with Odette’s tiramisu, perfectly paired with a glass of Nocino.

BEDU: Instagrammable Middle Eastern dinner

If your partner has been dying to try the viral Dubai chocolate — or to finally get some good couple’s pictures — this one’s for you. The sharing menu boasts classic Middle Eastern inspired dishes like a mezze platter (beetroot hummus with lamb baharat, radicchio salad and pita), salmon crudo, pan-seared red salmon and a rack of lamb (served with pomegranate sauce, green hummus and beetroot “caviar”), but the dessert is the star of the show. Enter the house-made Golden Dubai Chocolate, a heart-shaped textural delight made with crispy Kataifi, pistachio, tahini, vanilla and chocolate. If that’s not enough romance for you, couples will also receive a keepsake photo, as well a charming table-side reading of verses from 14th-century Persian poet Hafez.

Dim Sum Library: Bite-sized love

For those that like Westernised yum cha and pretty decor, Dim Sum Library is always a good idea. This V-Day, its serving up romance with a four-course feast of Cantonese favourites, each dish symbolising love and good fortune. Start with a dim sum trio of scallop and beetroot dumplings, a crispy cod roll with Yunnan termite mushroom and seared foie gras with osmanthus-smoked coddled egg. A double-boiled chicken soup with fish maw, conch and porcini mushroom brings prosperity, while mains like wok-tossed A4 Wagyu beef with wasabi garlic sauce and foie gras Wagyu fried rice deliver bold, indulgent flavours. End on a sweet note with a baked mango and lotus root puff. Plus, toast the occasion with “Him & Her” cocktails — extra points if you swap.

The Place: Family-friendly seafood buffet

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all lingerie and rose petals — it’s also an opportunity to spend time with your family and celebrate love. Cordis hotel in Mong Kok’s upscale buffet restaurant, The Place, is hosting a dinnertime buffet with a a diverse array of seafood delicacies (including steamed fresh lobster, oysters and seasonal sashimi) as well as pan-fried foie gras, bouillabaisse and roasted US ribeye, among other dishes. There will also be Valentine’s Day-inspired desserts, such as pistachio strawberry mousse cake, rose lychee white chocolate tart and pistachio mochi tart, along with unlimited soft drinks, selected beers and house wines.

Cristal Room: Opulent French gastronomy

The one-Michelin-starred Cristal Room needs no introduction, but in case you haven’t heard, last year it received the Best Design Award by SCMP Top Tables and a Prix Versailles distinction as one of the top 16 most beautiful restaurants. This Valentine’s Day, Cristal Room will be graced by the return of Anne-Sophie Pic — the most-decorated Michelin-starred female chef in the world! — for a special eight-course menu, featuring dishes like tomato tartelette, myriad beetroot and Brittany lobster. Qué Pasa Tapas y Vino: Spanish feast with live entertainment

Spice up Valentine’s Day with a fiery Spanish feast and live flamenco show. Tucked away in a dimly lit, stripped-back setting and offering one of the most unique wine selections in Hong Kong, Brut! is known for being a classic date night spot. The six-course Valentine’s Day set menu starts out with tahini scallop and cauliflower za’atar puree, yellow clams with vermouth marinade, and a foie gras and eel terrine paired with sake jelly. Main courses include monkfish roulade with spelt and curry vichyssoise, followed by roasted duck breast served with radicchio and sweet mulberries. This five-course tasting menu begins with sharing plates of foie gras ganache with cherry jelly, burrata with seasonal fruit and a snow crab tartare with guacamole, tomato and tofu skin. Guests can select their mains — options include cod fish with lentils, grapes, spinach purée and caviar sauce; Wagyu Bavette with raspberry beetroot purée, chimichurri, Swiss chard and coffee oil; or (for an additional $200) a grilled whole lobster with lemon butter and ikura.
