PG-13; 115 minutes
The last thing Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) remembers is his execution by lethal injection. Twenty-five years later, in 2018, he finds himself wandering around a desolate wasteland. Skynet, with its army of evil terminators, has destroyed most of the planet, leaving few survivors. He first encounters young Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin) and even younger Star (Jadagrace), who are soon captured by Skynet. Led by John Connor (Christian Bale), the resistance is struggling to conquer Skynet and save the world. Listening to a tape left by his mother years ago, Connor learns that he must save Kyle in order to insure his own existence as the hero he is fated to be. When Marcus and John meet up, it first appears that they can work together for a common cause. But Connor soon finds out who Marcus really is, and the relationship breaks. Their final encounter results in an explosive climax which includes a surprise, computer-generated cameo.
