The trailer for Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling is out, and it features quite a lot of space-age sex scenes between Harry Styles and Florence Pugh… oh, and a whole lot of secrets.
The R-rated psychological thriller takes place in the 1950s and follows Pugh as Alice, a beautiful housewife who lives with her husband Jack (Harry Styles) in a utopian experimental community. But although Alice and Jack’s life appears to be all rainbows and butterflies at first, Alice soon begins to question whether Jack and his company are hiding something sinister.
“Do you even know what the Victory Project even is? Have you ever asked?” Pugh asks Styles in the trailer. Later, she says through tears, “I don’t trust him, and I don’t want to be here anymore.”
The cast of Don’t Worry Darling also features Gemma Chan, Chris Pine, Nick Kroll, KiKi Layne, Douglas Smith, Timothy Simons, Dita Von Teese, and Asif Ali.

Don’t Worry Darling finds Wilde in the director’s chair for the first time since her feature directorial debut Booksmart starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein in 2019 — save for her short Wake Up, which she directed in 2020. Before that, she directed music videos for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros in 2016. Her first time directing was the 2011 short Free Hugs.
Wilde has plans to continue directing — after Don’t Worry Darling, she’s already tapped to direct Perfect starring Mckenna Grace (Gifted) and Last Night in Soho‘s Thomasin McKenzie and also an untitled Sony/Marvel Project.
Popstar and former One Direction member Harry Styles has acted previously in 2017’s Dunkirk and played Eros in Eternals. Pugh is known for Midsommar, Black Widow and Little Women, and Wilde’s acting career includes Tron: Legacy, The Lazarus Effect, Richard Jewell and Meadowland.
Don’t Worry Darling hits theaters Sept. 23 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
