There’s finally video of Pete Davidson telling jokes about Kanye West at Netflix Is a Joke: The Festival, so now you can watch exactly how he delivered the Mrs. Doubtfire joke that everyone’s been talking about.
In the nearly four-minute clip of Davidson’s Pete Davidson Presents: The Best Friend stand-up routine at The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, Davidson, who stars in the upcoming horror-slasher film Bodies Bodies Bodies, addressed his feud with rapper Kanye West, whose documentary Jeen-Yus premiered at Sundance. The whole feud started when Davidson began dating West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian about six months ago.
Davidson also joked about having an “AIDS scare” and clarified that he wasn’t offended by his friend Jack Harlow being featured on Kanye’s record.
“Kayne told me I have AIDS. And he’s a genius, so I was like, oh, fuck. I better call my doctor. The guy who made College Dropout thinks I have AIDS,” Davidson says in the clip. “My doctor told me I don’t have AIDS. I just look like I have it.”
Davidson also did an impression of fellow comedian John Mulaney.
“John Mulaney called me and he’s like ‘AIDS? You should spread a rumor that he has polio,'” Davidson said.
Then he went into his Mrs. Doubtfire bit about Robin Williams’ 1993 family comedy, in which a divorced dad disguises himself as a nanny in order to get back into his former home and spend time with his children.
“Does anybody else secretly hope that Kanye pulls like a Mrs. Doubtfire? I come home one day and they’re like, ‘This is the new housekeeper,’ and he’s like ‘What’s up fam?’” Davidson joked, doing a brief Kanye impression.
He also told the audience what it’s like to be constantly heckled in the street.
“The other day somebody came up to me and was like, ‘I heard you’re friends with Jack Harlow,'” Davidson said. “Kayne put him on his new album. Even though I’ve been friends with him for two to three years, he did it anyway. And people come up to me and they’re like, ‘How does that make you feel? Does that bother you? Does that get under your skin?’ And I’m like, ‘No, he’s a rapper. That’s his field. That’s what they do. That doesn’t hurt my feelings,'” he added. “It would hurt my feelings if I saw Bill Burr at Sunday Service.”
