Next to friends with jobs set up at online magazines and startups, she’s “absolutely terrified” — and doing “absolutely nothing.”

Brown acts alongside her brother, fellow filmmaker and actor Peter Vack, and the story was inspired by a real-life moment of sibling rivalry she experienced at SXSW in 2017.
BlackStar: One of MovieMaker‘s 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee, the BlackStar Film Festival has announced its 2022 lineup. The fest celebrates Black, brown and indigenous filmmakers, and the lineup includes the narrative feature Jasmine is a Star directed by Jo Rochelle, which follows a 16-year-old with albinism who makes it her mission to become a model in Minneapolis, and Aftershock directed by Paula Eiselt and Tonya Lewis Lee, which follows two families as they galvanize activists, birth-workers, and physicians to reckon with the US maternal health crisis after having lost loved ones due to childbirth complications. The program also includes experimental films, including Blackalachia, with a live conceptual performance by Moses Sumney with a 7-piece band who will play on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Harry Styles: Vanity Fair has the first look at Harry Styles in My Policeman, a new feature film in which he plays a closeted police officer in late 1950s England who must hide his secret love affair with a local museum curator (David Dawson), not only from the world, but from his wife (Emma Corrin). Directed by Michael Grandage, its produced by husband-team Robbie Rogers and Greg Berlanti along with Berlanti’s longtime producing partner Sarah Schechter, who has worked with him on countless TV projects including You, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Batwoman, Supergirl, and Riverdale.
Outfest: This year’s Outfest will open with the world premiere Anything’s Possible, Billy Porter’s directorial debut. It’s an uplifting love story about a senior-year relationship between a trans girl and a cis boy, and close with John Logan’s directorial debut, They/Them, according to Deadline.
