‘You Talkin’ to Me?’: Robert De Niro will definitely talk to himself in the new film Wise Guys, in which he will play both of two rival mafiosos. It’s written by Nicholas Pileggi, who also wrote Goodfellas, and directed by Bugsy and Wag the Dog director Barry Levinson. It’s also based on a true story, and in case you were wondering: No, the rival mafiosos were not twins.

May I Editorialize? I love that De Niro, who just played a mob hitman from the ages of 23 to 73, decided he needed something more challenging.
Nope: I haven’t read this Hollywood Reporter critics’ discussion of whether Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul is better because 1. not everything has to be a competition and 2. we’ve only had about 36 hours to process the entirety of Better Call Saul.
That Said: I did enjoy this conversation between Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk and co-creator Peter Gould about the way the Saul ran in the opposite direction of the Breaking Bad finale. Actually it might be more accurate to say it walked in the other direction. While smoking.
Have We Learned Nothing From This? I get that controversy clicks but yow: Here’s a different Hollywood Reporter this vs. that story, this time about Amazon’s Lord of the Rings and HBO’s House of the Dragon. What if they’re both good?
