If you’re craving a good mob drama to fill the void left by The Sopranos, Peaky Blinders, Narcos, Boardwalk Empire, and Ozark, there’s a new sheriff in town. His name is Sylvester Stallone, and he stars in a new Paramount+ drama called Tulsa King.
Stallone plays Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a former capo of the New York mafia who gets exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma by his boss after spending 25 years in prison.
“Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a ‘crew’ from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet,” reads the official description from Paramount+.
Created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1883, Hell or High Water), Tulsa King will premiere on Nov. 13 on Paramount+.
In addition to Stallone (Rocky, The Expendables, Rambo) the Tulsa King cast also includes Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), A.C. Peterson (Superman & Lois) with Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday).

In one hilarious scene in the trailer, Stallone’s character goes into a marijuana dispensary offering protection from “the gangs.”
“What gangs?” Starr’s character replies.
“And the law,” Stallone adds, not realizing that the marijuana industry has changed quite a big in the last 25 years and that dispensaries are legal now.
“There was no risk until you came along,” Starr says.
Sheridan executive produces Tulsa King along with Terence Winter, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, and Allen Coulter. Braden Aftergood will also produce.
