Netflix has ordered two more anthology seasons of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster series after the success of Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
The series is the second-most-popular English television series on Netflix, according to the streamer, which added that as of Nov. 1, Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story had accumulated 934 million viewing hours. The show is expected to reach 1 billion hours in the upcoming weeks.
Because of the success of Dahmer — Monster, Netflix has ordered more installments that will focus on other monstrous figures who have impacted society. No word yet on who — or what — those future installments will be about.
Dahmer — Monster stars Evan Peters as the famed serial killer and “Milwaukee Cannibal” Jeffrey Dahmer. The gruesome and heartwrenching drama sticks pretty close to the true story, but does take some artistic liberties, leaving audiences with questions like, did Dahmer really wear colored contacts to make his eyes look like Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars? and did he really watch The Exorcist III every single day?

Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story, The Politician) and Brennan (Glee, The Politicians) are also behind Netflix’s other popular series The Watcher, based on the 2018 New York Magazine article about the true story of a family who began to receive unsettling letters when they moved into a new house in New Jersey. The Watcher also received a renewal for Season 2 on Monday.
